Mystical Paths - Taoism & Christianity
Elizabeth Clare Prophet shows us all how the Mystical Paths of Taoism and Christianity intersect through the Teachings of Jesus, The Ascended Masters and The Tao te Ching.
The Taoist sage Chuang Tzu, who is considered the co-founder with Lao Tzu of Taoism, said: "Unless there be the attainment of te, the perfect Tao cannot be realized. When te is achieved, one is said to have returned to one's original nature." Te can be seen as the Inner Christ, which is the image and likeness of God in which we were made. It is the seed potential of the Inner Self. True virtue is embodied in this image and likeness of God--and we are made in that image and likeness.
Te, as the Inner Christ and the Real Self, exists within us as a potential to be realized. It is realized in the course of our daily lives as we bring forth the fruits of action (the te of the Tao). Through embodying the te in this life we attain to the level of the image and likeness of God and at the conclusion of this life our souls merge with the Inner Christ, or the Real Self.
